Each year at the Annual Family Cafe, we offer an exciting opportunity to persons with disabilities that operate their own Micro-Enterprise businesses. As part of an ongoing effort to promote economic self-sufficiency, we give self-advocate business owners the chance to share their experiences and products in the Exhibit Hall at The Family Cafe Annual Conference...at ZERO COST!
Micro-enterprises are defined as small businesses that are owned and operated by persons with disabilities. They provide their owners with a source of income, and, just as importantly, a sense of pride and accomplishment. By operating a micro-enterprise, an individual can explore their interests while simultaneously contributing to their local community.
To qualify to participate in this program, a Micro-Enterprise must meet the following criteria:
- Owned and operated by a self-advocate
- Employs fewer than five people
- Has annual revenue that does not exceed $35,000.
The Family Cafe provides a great platform for Micro-Enterprise owners to present their businesses to thousands of potential consumers. If you qualify, and are interested in showcasing your micro-enterprise at The 13th Annual Family Cafe, please contact our office or check back here for registration materials in the New Year!
